Versatile Castile Soap

Liquid Castile soap is a versatile multi-use soap.  This soap can be diluted and mixed into different concentrations for various uses.  This is a great option for dry or sensitive skin.  You can tailor the soap by adding more water to make it more tolerable for sensitive skin.  Castile soap is less harsh than chemical soaps.  

Face Wash:  Add three drops to your wet hands to rub into your face to create a gentle face wash. 

Another option is to fill a foaming soap dispenser with about 2/3 water and 1/3 soap.  Then, add a few drops of your favorite essential oil such as tea tree.

Plant Spray:  Mix .5 to 1 tablespoon of soap with a quart of water to create a plant spray to kill insects and discourage infestations.  You may also want to add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil for a longer lasting plant spray. 

Dish and Hand Soap:  Mix 1 part Castile soap with ten parts water to wash dishes or use as a non-abrasive hand soap. 

Laundry:  Use up to one tablespoon of soap per load for laundry.  You may want to add a bit more or less depending on the size of your load and the specifications of your washer. 

Bathtub Scrub:  For a bathtub scrub mix 2/3 water and 1/3 soap in a spray bottle.  Then, coat your tub in baking soda.  Next, spray the Castile soap blend on top.  Scrub everything clean with a brush or a scouring pad.
